Kenlighten Privacy Policy

“Kenlighten” or “Mavenz Kenlighten” or the “Kenlighten Platform” or the “Site” or the “Service”, which includes the content, the software applications platform and services available through www.kenlighten.com or the website, is owned by Mavenz Management and Technology Services Private Limited, a company incorporated in India, hereinafter, referred to as “Mavenz” or “the Company”.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information posted by you for our services on the Kenlighten Platform. Please note that some Mavenz-branded websites or websites we operate may be governed by separate privacy policies. The policy that applies on any of our domains or subdomains refers to the policy that appears in the footer of each website.

Information Collection

When you use Kenlighten, you share with us the following kinds of information, collectively referred to as “User Content”:

1. Personal information such as your name, gender, date of birth, email addresses and other contact details, what your are interested to learn and or teach, your interests or any other information you choose to share with other Users that may describe you or otherwise in general.
2. Professional information such as your work experience, educational qualifications and skills.
3. Relationships you have or develop with other users of Kenlighten.
4. Messages that you may send to other users of Kenlighten directly or through Kenlighten Communities created by you or other users or as invitations or tutorial referrals, reviews and ratings, feedback on reviews or about the Kenlighten Platform.
5. Your knowledge that you may upload in the form of a tutorial that may contain documents, video, audio, image and or presentation created using the Kenlighten Presentation Tool at the Kenlighten platform.
6. Site usage information based on your interaction with the Site such as the tutorials you accessed last, your browser type and IP address.

You can view, review and change most of your personal and professional information by signing on to Kenlighten. You are solely responsible for all User Content (as defined in the Kenlighten Terms of Use and above) posted by you on Kenlighten, and you do so at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Content you post on Kenlighten will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.

Once you make a public posting, you may not be able to change or remove it. Upon your request, we will close your account and remove your personal information from view as soon as reasonably possible, based on your account activity and in accordance with applicable law. We do retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.

You may also create tutorials and multiple versions of the same based on your membership status. Please note that you cannot delete those versions of your tutorials that may have been purchased by one or more other users of Kenlighten even if you decide to close your account with Kenlighten. You must keep your account active in order to receive your margins for each sale of tutorials created by you.

Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on Kenlighten is a violation of the Kenlighten Terms of Use and should be reported through the Post Your Feedback form available in the left hand menu once you sign in to your Kenlighten account.

If you choose to use our invitation or tutorial referral service to inform a friend about our site or tutorial available on our site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation or referral, such as your friend's email address. We will send your friend an email or instant message in your name inviting him or her to visit the site to register as a user or to view and subscribe to the tutorial as the case may be, and may send up to two reminders to them. Kenlighten stores this information to send invitations , referrals and reminders, to register a connection if your invitation is accepted, to allow you to see invitations you have sent, and to track the success of our referral program.

Information Use

Our primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. You agree that we may use your personal information to:

1. provide the services and customer support you request;
2. resolve disputes, collect fees, and troubleshoot problems;
3. prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our User Agreement;
4. customize, measure and improve our services, content and advertising; and
5. tell you about our services and those of our corporate family, targeted marketing, service updates, and promotional offers based on your communication preferences;

Account Protection

Your password is the key to your account. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your login information.

Children

Kenlighten does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from anyone under the age of 13, unless or except as permitted by law. Any person who provides Personal Information through the Kenlighten Platform represents to us that he or she is 13 years of age or older. If Kenlighten learns that Personal Information has been collected from a user under 13 years of age on or through the Kenlighten Platform, then Kenlighten will take the appropriate steps to cause this information to be deleted.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under 13 who has become a Kenlighten User, please contact Kenlighten at mailto:kenlighten.privacy@mavenz.com to have that child's account terminated and information deleted.

Cookies

We use "cookies" (small files placed on your hard drive) on certain of our pages to help analyze our web page flow; customize our services, content and advertising; measure promotional effectiveness, and promote trust and safety.

A few important things you should know about cookies are that:

1. We offer certain features that are available only through the use of cookies.
2. We use cookies to help identify you and maintain your signed-in status.
3. Most cookies are "session cookies," meaning that they are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of a session.
4. You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although doing so may interfere with your use of some of our sites or services.
5. You may encounter cookies from third parties on certain pages of the sites that we do not control.

No Spam, Spyware or Spoofing

We and our users do not tolerate spam. You are not licensed to add other Kenlighten users, even a user who has purchased a tutorial from you, to your mailing list (email or physical mail) without their express consent. To report Kenlighten-related spam or spoof emails to Kenlighten, please forward the email to kenlighten.mailscam@mavenz.com. You may not use our communication tools to send spam or otherwise send content that would violate our Terms of Use. We automatically scan and may manually filter messages to check for spam, viruses, phishing attacks and other malicious activity or illegal or prohibited content.

Change of Ownership

In the event of a change in ownership, or a merger with, acquisition by, or sale of assets to, another entity, we reserve the right to transfer all of your Personal Information, including email addresses, to that entity. Kenlighten will use reasonable efforts to notify registered users of such a transfer (by a posting on the home page, or by email to a Kenlighten User's email address that was provided to us, as chosen by us at our discretion).

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. Your information is stored on our servers located in India. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use lots of tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as you probably know, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the site. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private. Because email and instant messaging are not recognized as secure communications, we request that you not send private information to us by email or instant messaging services.

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Marketing

We don't sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We may combine your information with information we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize our services, content and advertising.

Third Parties

Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. If you disclose your information to others, whether they are buyers or sellers or any other users on our sites or other sites throughout the internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. Kenlighten does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. We encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.

International Users

Kenlighten is hosted in India. If you use Kenlighten from any region with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from laws of India, please note that you are transferring your personal data to India. By providing Personal Information under this Privacy Policy, you consent to the use of Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the transfer of your Personal Information to India.

Changes and Updates to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time, with or without prior notice. If we do change or update, we will update the "effective date" at the top of the Privacy Policy page. If we make changes to this policy that significantly alter the way we treat your personally identifiable information, we will notify you here, by email, or through notice on our home page. We encourage you periodically refer to this policy so that you understand and are abreast of the current privacy policy. Unless stated otherwise, our current privacy policy is applicable to all information that we have about you, your account and your use of the Kenlighten Platform.

If you use the Kenlighten Platform after notice of changes have been sent to you or published on our site, you hereby provide your consent to the changed practices. Regardless of your usage, all changes automatically take effect 30 days after they are initially posted on the site, and you hereby provide your consent to the changed practices.
